On the First Friday of the month, June through September, DTSF treats you to the ultimate block party experience. These FREE events are located on the Eastbank of downtown Sioux Falls, which Thrillist recently named 1 of 12 up and coming neighborhoods across America.” Enjoy live music, food vendors, beer, wine, and shopping at some of the most unique stores along the boardwalk of the 8th & Railroad Center.

Block party events provide a casual atmosphere that is family-friendly and fun for all ages. Picnic tables will be provided, but feel free to bring your own lawn chair. Kick back and enjoy the sounds of local and regional acts performing each evening including Minneapolis blues, South Dakota folk, and everything in between.

Retail, food, and interactive vendors are set up along the venue’s peripheral which complements the great retail stores along the boardwalk of the 8th & Railroad Center, providing a marketplace type atmosphere to purchase unique gifts.

Admission is FREE, thanks to this year's sponsors: Duluth Trading Company, 8th & Railroad Center, and Bud Sioux Falls.

5:30 - 6:15pm - Hard Travelin'
Hard Travelin' is a 5-piece string band from Sioux Falls, SD. Hard Travelin' draws from the roots of bluegrass and old time country, and puts their own spin on those styles to create a unique sound of their own. Their instrumentation consists of banjo, mandolin, lap steel, bass, and acoustic guitar. The band has played shows and music festivals throughout the mid-west, and will be releasing their debut album Fall 2017.

6:30 - 8:15pm - Blue Sky Music Machine
Earthy, edgy, imaginative, high energy, all audience featuring two guitars, bass, piano and harmonica, and lots of harmony vocals. Blue Sky Music Machine puts their own spin on thoughtfully selected iconic traditional and alternative country, bluegrass, acoustic rock, and original music - a surprise around every corner!

8:45 - 11:00pm - Harper & Midwest Kind
Multi award winning Australian Singer/songwriter Peter D. Harper creates a heady mix of original world, blues & roots music, featuring soulful vocals, wailing harmonica and the haunting drone of the didgeridoo! Harper is backed by his incredible Michigan based band "Midwest Kind".
