On the First Friday of the month, June through September, DTSF treats you to the ultimate block party experience. These FREE events are located on the Eastbank of downtown Sioux Falls, which Thrillist recently named 1 of 12 up and coming neighborhoods across America.” Enjoy live music, food vendors, beer, wine, and shopping at some of the most unique stores along the boardwalk of the 8th & Railroad Center.

Block party events provide a casual atmosphere that is family-friendly and fun for all ages. Picnic tables will be provided, but feel free to bring your own lawn chair. Kick back and enjoy the sounds of local and regional acts performing each evening including Minneapolis blues, South Dakota folk, and everything in between.

Retail, food, and interactive vendors are set up along the venue’s peripheral which complements the great retail stores along the boardwalk of the 8th & Railroad Center, providing a marketplace type atmosphere to purchase unique gifts.

Admission is FREE, thanks to this year's sponsors: Duluth Trading Company, 8th & Railroad Center, Bud Sioux Falls, and Professional Bull Riders.

Friday, August 4: PBR Night at the Block Party!

5:30 - 6:15pm - Dayna Jones
Dayna Jones is a singer/songwriter from Emery, SD and  has been performing in and around the states of  SD, MN, IA and TN for the past 10 years.  She is currently the lead vocalist for her band, Jones & Company. You can check them out at jonesandcompanymusic.com. The band has opened for Theory of a Deadman, Mindi Abair & the Boneshakers, and Echoes of Pompei . She even sang once with country superstar Martina McBride. Dayna has also performed several times for the Mitchell Area Community Theatre (Grease, Anything Goes, and Chicago). Dayna is a powerful vocalist who can sing just about anything, heck, she even raps sometimes.  She isn't tied to one genre and that's what audiences love about her.


6:30 - 8:15pm - 11 Years New
11 Years New is an acoustic four-piece band, with members from Tea and Harrisburg SD. They play a wide variety of music, including rock, country and pop. The group is known for their tight harmonies, sweet guitar licks, and surprising ability to turn just about any song into an acoustic tune. 11 Years New can be found playing all around the Sioux Falls area. Members are: Jessica Schultz (vocals), Chad Schultz (vocals, guitar), Jeremy Baker (guitar), and Beau Bryan (bass).

8:45 - 11:00pm - Massive Brass Attack
This dynamic 9 piece band is the perfect live show for any public, corporate or private event.  With a powerful four-piece horn section, soulful vocals and killer rhythm section, any audience will be brought to their feet right from the start of their show.  Massive Brass Attack is the perfect live show for any public, corporate or private event.  The main MBA band includes Brian Wheeler on guitar/banjo/vocals, Randy Woods on lead vocals, Steve Gasiecki on keys, Nick Sittig on bass, and Cory Birch on drums. The MBA horn section is made up of Ken "Boneman" Hoyne on trombone/vocals, Tyler Pridey on tenor sax, Ryan Hofer on bari sax, and Gavin Wigg on trumpet.
