Downtown Burger Battle

The 5th Annual Downtown Burger Battle presented by the South Dakota Cattlemen's Foundation kicks off Tuesday, January 2nd and will continue through the month of January.  Participating restaurants will exemplify the breadth and variety of restaurants downtown by showcasing the classic American burger.  Come downtown to enjoy a burger, then rate it to see who the restaurant winner will be at the end of that month.

Customers will assign up to five points in each of five categories for every featured burger they try.  The categories include: Patty, Presentation, Toppings, Bun, and Customer Service.  The burger with the highest average points at the conclusion of the battle will be declared the winner!

Prizes

Those who complete and turn in rating slips will be eligible to win a grand prize of a gift card to each of the participating restaurants.  Did you try a featured burger that you absolutely loved?!  Beginning January 2nd, post a photo of your burger to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the restaurant name and the hashtag #BurgerBattle18 to be entered to win a weekly restaurant gift card drawing!

Chuck/Brisket Blend Beef Patty, basted with an Umami Bomb, on a pretzel bun, topped with Black Garlic Aioli, Arcadian Harvest Emerald Greens, sweet pickled green tomato, smoked Gouda cheese, fried pork belly and bacon jam.

"Son of the Hutt"
7oz House ground beef patty {cooked to order}, topped with pancetta, fried onion strings & Beer Ghost Cheese sauce on a grilled egg bun.

The Market
“The Harvester” - dedicated to their building’s history and the local farmers it’s supported.
The freshly ground beef patty is topped with Chef Greg’s house-made bacon, Valley Side Ringneck Cheddar, garlic & parsley aioli and local greenhouse lettuce.

"Classic Deluxe" 
A hand-pattied, half pound juicy burger served on a buttered and grilled freshly baked sourdough bun, topped with American Cheese and served with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle.

Wiley's Tavern  
"The Asian Zing"
Hoisin infused 100% certified angus beef patty topped with a sweet Asian slaw finished with sriracha and cilantro lime aioli served on a fresh jumbo egg bun.
