First Lutheran Church invites the Sioux Falls community to a hymn festival celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 29, 2017. Join the congregation in singing the faith Christians share.

The hymn festival will be led by John Schwandt, associate professor of organ and director of the American Organ Institute at the University of Oklahoma. A 100-voice community choir, brass quartet, timpani, violin, and flute will join in supporting congregational song. Theological reflections will be offered by Steven Paulson, professor of systematic theology at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minn.

The festival will be followed by a German-themed supper of bratwurst and German potato salad in the First Lutheran Church Reformation Hall. The cost for the meal is five dollars.

The hymn festival is free and open to the public, but complimentary tickets are required. Tickets for the meal must also be reserved. Please reserve tickets prior to Sunday, October 22, 2017 by visiting First Lutheran Church, calling the church office, or visiting flcsf.org/hymnfestival. Tickets may be picked up at First Lutheran during business hours (M-Th 8-5, F 8-4) prior to the hymn festival or at will call on the afternoon of Sunday, October 29, 2017.
