Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was honored with the 2016 Spirit of Downtown Award from Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. for the department’s efforts during the Copper Lounge building collapse Dec. 2.
Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc. (DTSF) and several participating businesses presented a check for just over $5,900 to this year’s Downtown Gives beneficiary, Bishop Dudley Hospitality House (BDHH).

Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc. (DTSF) and its members have selected Bishop Dudley Hospitality House (BDHH) as the 2016 Downtown Gives beneficiary.
Construction will begin on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, to make the Main Avenue road diet permanent. Construction crews will begin work between Eighth Street and Ninth Street. The adjacent driving lane and parking lane near the work zone will be closed between 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. The driving lane will be opened for peak hour traffic.

Beginning on Monday morning, February 15, 2016, the outside southbound lane and parking on the west side of South Main Avenue will be closed between West 11th Street and West 12th Street.
On Saturday, November 28, DTSF and the Sioux Falls Design Center (SFDC) hosted the judges of the inaugural Great Gingerbread Build competition at the SFDC and winners were announced and awarded prizes.
