Join downtown restaurants for the 2nd Annual Downtown Pork Showdown, a mad-dash month of culinary competition presented by DTSF and Smithfield Foods. 

Try a succulent chop at one restaurant and bacon-studded brunch at the next.
Which pork dish will rise above the rest?
It’s really up to you!

Dust off your food critic skills and rate each competing dish on a variety of categories within the DTSF Digital Passport App to make sure the best gets crowned champ!

Blarney Stone Pub: “Stay Gold Porky Boy” Melt

Garlic and Parmesan encrusted sourdough, melted Pepper Jack and Smoked Cheddar, piled high with our house beer braised pork, Carolina gold BBQ sauce, creamy coleslaw, pickled red onions and fried pickles.

Chef Lance’s on Phillips: Ribs & Grits

Bourbon braised baby back pork ribs with smoked cherry BBQ sauce on a bed of white cheddar and fresh herb grits.

Location: 431 N. Phillips Ave.
Hours of Service: Available at lunch from 11-2 Tues-Sat and at dinner from 5-9 Tues-Sat. (Closed Sunday and Monday). Available for carryout by calling us at 605-271-7800. No delivery service offered. Reservations are recommended.

Cookie Jar Eatery: The Cuban Sandwich

Cuban Sandwich served on an onion, garlic, cheddar bun and features pulled pork, ham, pickles, mustard,and swiss cheese served with a side of cole slaw.

Crawford’s: Bacon & Brussels

Smoked and braised pork belly, caramelized brussel sprouts, sweet potato puree with maple gastrique finished with pecans and pomegranate.

Holiday Inn City Centre: Pork Belly Bahn Mi Lavash

Lavash flatbread roasted with slow cooked pork belly, fresh shredded mozzarella, jalapenos and homemade hoisin sauce. Finished with pickled carrot and radish relish, diced cucumber, and cilantro.

La Luna Café: Bourbon Pulled Pork Tacos

Description: bourbon infused pork, garnished with red onions and cilantro, served on double corn tortillas. The plate come with three tacos, a side of a lemon wedge, homemade pico de gallo, and a house salsa.

M.B. Haskett Delicatessen: Cubano Sandwich

Using local pork shoulder from Berrybrook farms in Freeman, SD, the Cubano Sandwich will be slow roasted pork shoulder, smokey prosciutto, house made pickles, a grainy mustard mayo, and Gruyere cheese on Breadico ciabatta.

The Treasury at Hotel on Phillips: Korean Pig Wig

The Treasury and Chef Matthew present a single bone surrounded by lean tender meat that has been frenched, sous vide, dusted, and fried. To finish, we toss it in our house-made Korean sauce that is a little sweet & a little spicy. It is served with a side of pickled carrots and kimchi bacon ranch…both house-made.
