Krista Tschetter grew up in Rock Rapids, Iowa, and attended the University of South Dakota for both her undergraduate degrees and law degree. Following law school, Krista was a judicial law clerk for three years – one year for the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court in Pierre and two years for the Honorable Lori S. Wilbur of the South Dakota Supreme Court. Krista then worked as a trust officer for Home Federal Bank/Great Western Bank for two years prior to joining First Bank &; Trust in the summer of 2016. Krista currently serves as the Deputy General Counsel for First Bank &; Trust where she oversees much of the legal and shareholder services functions for the Bank.
Outside of the Bank, Krista has been involved in a variety of community activities. She is currently a
Board member for the South Dakota Bankers Association and DakotAbilities and is the immediate Past Chair of the Emerging Leaders Committee for the South Dakota Bankers Association. Krista previously served on the board of directors for the Sioux Falls Area CASA Program from 2014 through 2021, serving as Chair of Board from 2019-2020, and a member of the 2024 class of Leadership South Dakota. Krista is
married to Paul, and they reside in heart of Sioux Falls with their children, Benjamin (9); Elliot (6); and Lauren (4).
