The Film Festival is South Dakota’s local festival dedicated to showcasing films from around the world that highlight the talents of people with physical and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to create meaningful opportunities for individuals with disabilities and rare diseases to share their stories, express their creativity, and be celebrated on the BIG screen. The festival empowers creators to lead the storytelling process, whether in front of or behind the camera, giving them a platform that is often unavailable in traditional media.
Our passionate team is dedicated to empowering creators to share their experiences, perspectives, and artistry on the BIG screen while helping foster greater awareness, inclusion, and representation through film.
What Can I Expect at ‘The Film Festival’?
Films, of course! You’ll see the very best from filmmakers with disabilities and rare diseases in the region and around the world. You will have a chance to hear them talk about their films, ask questions and meet them in person.
