DTSF’s Response to COVID-19

March 24, 2020

Recent world events have us thinking of DTSF Members and those who live, work, and play in Downtown Sioux Falls. We hope that this notice finds you all safe and healthy.

DTSF is currently working hard in the preparation for upcoming events with the well-being of all who visit downtown in mind, which is why we are monitoring the recommendations of the CDC, International Downtown Association, and industry networks. Much will occur in the next several weeks that will continue to influence a very fluid situation.

Due to the current, ever-changing guidelines and procedures regarding COVID-19, we at DTSF have made the decision to adjust our upcoming schedule of Events & Promotions for the following:

Restaurant Week (Set to Launch Friday, April 3): Postponed – Date TBD

Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt (Saturday, April 11): Canceled

May Art & Wine Walk (Friday, May 1): Postponed – Date TBD

First Friday East Bank Block Party (Friday, June 5): As Scheduled at This Time

As with anything right now, there may need to be a reevaluation as this pandemic unfolds and all is subject to change. We will keep you informed of any and all updates!

DTSF’s podcast, with updates on resources for small business, is available on Youtube.

For more information on COVID-19:

DTSF seeks to support small businesses with social distancing in mind. Many food and beverage businesses are capable of carry-out and off-sale commerce, and the purchase of gift cards can offer financial relief as businesses cope with decreased foot traffic. For a list of small businesses offering increased phone ordering, pickup, and delivery services, visit this webpage.

DTSF and key partners will be considering the best ways to support downtown businesses. On-going conversations are being held to monitor conditions and changing needs. Critical announcements will be shared, as warranted and as they become available.
