Sioux Falls Science Pub: Fungus in Your Foods and Fields (with Cooking Demonstration)

Fungi are awesome, and so much more than just the classic button mushrooms that you find in the grocery store! In February’s Sioux Falls Science Pub presentation, Dr. Andrew Sathoff will profile various diverse, edible fungi (all available for purchase from major retailers). These fungi play additional roles other than simply being delicious: they’re crucial parts of the ecosystem, too. These fungal foods will be available for sampling, and there will be a live cooking demonstration!

Dr. Sathoff has a PhD in Plant Pathology from the University of Minnesota and is an Associate Professor of Biology and the Math and Science Department Chair at Dakota State University.
