Downtown Sioux Falls has over 1,000 on-street parking spaces for convenient, short term access to downtown shopping, dining and cultural experiences. The Park Smarter App™ can help you find a spot just for you. Parking is FREE on weekends and after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. For long term parking, use our interactive map above to find one of over 2,300 off-street parking spaces. See below for more details on parking.

Park Smarter App™
The Park Smarter App™ offers customers a time-saving and convenient payment option when parking downtown. Download the Park Smarter App™ from Google Play (Android) or the App Store (Apple). Setting up the Park Smarter App™ app is easy. The app offers enhanced features such as:

  • Pay and extend parking sessions remotely,
  • Real-time parking expiration notifications,
  • Parking finder tool,
  • Multiple vehicles and credit cards under one account,
  • Single sign-on registration,
  • A record of your payments,
  • Emailed parking receipts, and
  • No convenience fees.

Note: The Park Smarter App™ was independently developed for the City of Sioux Falls. The exact geo-location of some meters will not be perfected until September, 2019.

Parking Meters
On-street parking offers the most convenient, short term access to downtown shopping, dining and cultural amenities. There are over 200 credit & debit card enabled smart parking meters in the heart of downtown, and cost between $1.00 – $1.25 per hour. Parking meters are enforced 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Downtown Leased Parking
There are approximately 2,300 parking spaces in various lots and ramps in the downtown area available for long term parking. Monthly leased parking is available in fifteen lots and four ramps ranging from $47 to $87/month based on location and availability. Available spaces can be leased directly from the Public Parking office located in the lower level of City Hall at 224 West 9th Street.

Parking Fines
To pay a parking citation, visit this website. Payment may also be enclosed with the citation in the envelope provided and returned in the following ways:

  • Deposit in a yellow courtesy box located in the middle of each downtown block,
  • Drop off at any First Premier Bank drive through lane, or
  • Attach postage and deposit in the mail.

Note: Do NOT pay by Cash or Coins when using the mail or drop-box options.
