The Downtown Ambassador Program is funded through a combination of the Downtown Business Improvement District (BID), the City of Sioux Falls, and private donations. The BID is a self-imposed assessment created by downtown property owners who collectively invest in services that keep the district clean, safe, and vibrant—services that go above and beyond what the City can provide on its own. This public-private partnership allows Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc. to operate the Ambassador Program efficiently and sustainably, ensuring that every dollar directly supports the wellbeing, beauty, and accessibility of our city’s core.
