Open Storefronts in Downtown Sioux Falls

Downtown retailers are modifying capacity limits, increasing sanitization, and changing daily routines in order to create the safest possible environment in their storefronts. These businesses are paying close attention to City Ordinances and CDC recommendations. In order to ensure the safety of our community, please follow health and safety guidelines while enjoying downtown: wear a mask in public spaces, sanitize your hands frequently, and stay home if you feel the slightest bit sick.

Most retailers also offer alternative methods of shopping, such as online purchasing, curbside pickup, and delivery. Visit business websites for more details on individual store offerings.

DTSF Small Business Resources

“May you live in interesting times” is often conveyed as some kind of blessing. Most would agree that times have been a little too interesting lately. People are anxious, confused, and afraid. These are normal feelings. We all have experienced these feelings since this pandemic first took root.

We’re asked to do a lot too. Reinvent business models. Research and apply to new programs. Secure funding. Have incredibly difficult conversations with staff. Some are even doing this while teaching their kids too. It’s not easy. Make sure you go easy on yourself.

Know that in this difficult time, DTSF is here to help our business members get through this by connecting them with all the available resources. We’ll continue to do what we can to help businesses adapt to the changing economy.

For the latest insights and resources, subscribe to The DTSF Connection on our YouTube channel. You can also tune in though your favorite podcast app.

Have faith that good things can come from bad situations. We will pull through this, and we will be stronger than before. Stay strong and keep smiling!

Sincerely,

Joe Batcheller
DTSF President

DTSF’s Response to COVID-19

Recent world events have us thinking of DTSF Members and those who live, work, and play in Downtown Sioux Falls. We hope that this notice finds you all safe and healthy.

DTSF is currently working hard in the preparation for upcoming events with the well-being of all who visit downtown in mind, which is why we are monitoring the recommendations of the CDC, International Downtown Association, and industry networks. Much will occur in the next several weeks that will continue to influence a very fluid situation.

Due to the current, ever-changing guidelines and procedures regarding COVID-19, we at DTSF have made the decision to adjust our upcoming schedule of Events & Promotions for the following:

Restaurant Week (Set to Launch Friday, April 3): Postponed – Date TBD

Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt (Saturday, April 11): Canceled

May Art & Wine Walk (Friday, May 1): Postponed – Date TBD

First Friday East Bank Block Party (Friday, June 5): As Scheduled at This Time

As with anything right now, there may need to be a reevaluation as this pandemic unfolds and all is subject to change. We will keep you informed of any and all updates!

DTSF’s podcast, with updates on resources for small business, is available on Youtube.

For more information on COVID-19:

DTSF seeks to support small businesses with social distancing in mind. Many food and beverage businesses are capable of carry-out and off-sale commerce, and the purchase of gift cards can offer financial relief as businesses cope with decreased foot traffic. For a list of small businesses offering increased phone ordering, pickup, and delivery services, visit this webpage.

DTSF and key partners will be considering the best ways to support downtown businesses. On-going conversations are being held to monitor conditions and changing needs. Critical announcements will be shared, as warranted and as they become available.

Small Businesses Are Open For Orders

In the midst of increased social distancing measures and decreased foot traffic, purchasing from small businesses is more important than ever. Small businesses rely on the local community to keep their lights on and stores running. Your purchase goes a long way in ensuring that they’ll be able to continue providing their services. Helping your community is as simple as making a purchase from a favorite shop!

From phone orders to delivery and shipping options, here’s a list of local businesses who are going above and beyond to meet your needs. Rest assured that all businesses are also implementing cleanliness measures in accordance with CDC guidelines to ensure your health as they package and deliver your purchases.

NEW! Free 20 minute parking for carry out orders in various downtown locations!
