2018 Native American Day Parade

Overview

The Native American Day Parade in Sioux Falls will honor the state and national holiday by highlighting the beautiful and vibrant cultures of our local tribal nations.

The theme is “Honoring Our Elders”. This is event is meant to give thanks to elders and honor their wisdom and generosity.

The Grand Marshall for the Parade is Tim Giago (Owner of Native Sun News Today). Giago convinced Governor George S. Michelson to make Native American Day a state holiday in 1990.

This event will feature the positive work being done in our tribal areas and urban settings. We are inviting drums and dancers to participate.
