11/20/2020 Notice: DTSF has canceled the 2020 Parade of Lights to ensure public safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Downtown is an enchanting place to experience during the holidays. This year however, the Parade of Lights will not be part of the holiday offerings.” – Joe Batcheller, DTSF President
DTSF is promoting a safe and healthy holiday shopping season. DTSF also encourages people to mask up and shop local all season long in downtown.
Join us for the 29th Annual Parade of Lights, presented by First Bank & Trust, as we light up the city and welcome in the 2020 Holiday Season!
Holiday floats decorated with festive decorations and plenty of lights will line the streets of historic downtown for the public to enjoy the sights and sounds of the holidays!
The Parade of Lights has become a family tradition, attracting thousands who have reveled in the coming joy of the season. We invite you to be part of the 29th year of this growing holiday tradition!
In light of COVID-19, we are doing things a little differently this year:
The parade route will remain the same along Phillips Avenue, and floats will line the streets. However, instead of the floats moving along the route, the spectators are the ones that will be doing the moving!
The floats will remain stationary for the duration on the event and the public is invited to come down, walk around, and view the parked floats.

Want to Be a Volunteer?
We are looking for more volunteers to help us with the upcoming Parade of Lights! Volunteers make this event successful by assisting with the placement of floats into their designated areas, helping with the staging and de-staging process, keeping visitors safe and informed, moving barricades in place, and other duties as assigned!
This is a GREAT way to get your business, organization, outside groups, teams, and families a part of the action on November 27! Volunteers would need to arrive by 5:00pm for assignments & announcements (*dinner provided). Please email Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info or if you would like get signed up!
*Face masks/face coverings will be expected for volunteers
Persons requiring special accommodation for participation in this event should call 605-338-4009 during regular business hours at least 48 hours prior to the event. Special needs will be accommodated whenever reasonably possible.
