Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc., Avera Health, 28 downtown businesses and local artists are partnering to host the annual October Art & Wine Walk taking place Friday, October 4, 2019 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Visitors can tour downtown locations while viewing local art and tasting a variety of wine.

Meeting local artists and viewing the art is free.  The variety of artists include: painters, sculptors, musicians, photographers, woodworkers, jewelry makers and more.

Wine samples are available with the purchase of a $20 punch card to taste 10 wine samples. Individual glasses can also be purchased for $5.

“The October Art & Wine walk is a favorite event among Sioux Falls residents, visitors, and small business owners.  There’s nothing better than walking around downtown Sioux Falls during Art & Wine Walk because you feel part of the flourishing community. People won’t want to miss out on the chance to enjoy the start of the Fall season while meeting local artists, sampling wine, and shopping small businesses,” said Sadie Swier, DTSF Marketing & Communication Coordinator.

The October Art & Wine Walk will also serve as a kickoff to Avera Health’s campaign to promote Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Visitors can learn more information about breast cancer and receive giveaways at Art & Wine Walk locations.

“During the month of October, Avera is placing lots of focus on raising awareness about breast cancer. Early detection offers the best chance for a cure of this disease that will affect one in eight women during their lifetime. We encourage all women to have a conversation about breast health with their primary care provider and schedule regular mammograms once they reach age 40,” said Jason Jones, MD, Avera Medical Group breast medical oncologist.
