As college move-in day approaches, Downtown Sioux Falls is excited to welcome the hundreds of new students that will be joining our community. Downtown has many sites to see, events to attend, and places to study!


Falls Park

If you’re a new member of the Sioux Falls community, it’s basically a requirement that you visit the iconic Falls Park. Enjoy gorgeous waterfalls, historic sites, a café, walking paths, and more!


Take a stroll downtown and check out over 50 sculptures on display. Visit sculpturewalksiouxfalls.com/map to be sure you don’t miss any!

Downtown Riverfest 

Party on the Big Sioux River on August 21st from 4:00 pm-11:00 pm. Riverfest includes live music, kids’ activities, food trucks, cold drinks, retail vendors, and more!

Moonlight Movie: Incredibles 2

Enjoy a free outdoor showing of Incredibles 2 on Saturday, August 28 beginning at dusk in Fawick Park. Remember to bring your favorite blanket or chair!

September Eastbank Block Party 

Stop by the 8th & Railroad Center on Friday, September 3, from 5:30-11 pm to listen to live music, feast on great food truck fare, play yard games, and stop by an array of display and retail vendors.

Falls Farmer’s Market

Check out the farmer’s market every Saturday through October from 8:00 am-1:00 pm in Falls Park. Each week there is a wide variety of vendors selling fresh flowers, delicious pastries, and much more!

Study Locations:

Coffea Roasterie and Espresso Bar (200 S. Phillips Ave.)

Get more than just your average cup of joe when you study at Coffea Roasterie and Espresso Bar. This contemporary-styled coffee shop offers indoor or outdoor seating and its large windows allow you to overlook the bustling Phillips Avenue while you work.

Grab a cup of coffee and something to eat at Josiah’s Coffeehouse and Café with your study buddies. Their large tables and booths are the perfect place for group work and discussions.

La Luna Café is a family-owned and operated café that serves specialty coffee drinks and nontraditional breakfast items. Its relaxed atmosphere and creative artwork covering the walls make it a great space to study or catch up on work. When you are in need of a study break, it’s conveniently located by Falls Park.

The Full Circle Book Co-op (123 W. 10th St.)

The Full Circle Book Co-op’s cushioned benches, large tables, and bookcases create a cozy environment to study. When all your hard work studying makes you hungry, they also offer a wide variety of food and drink options.

The Source Coffee Roastery + Taproom (421 N Phillips Ave.)

The Source Coffee is a locally owned roastery and taproom that provides a fresh and modern place to study. Night owls, take note! The 10 pm closing time makes this a great place to catch up on work. While you’re there, check out the other businesses located in the same building.

Local Favorites:

Rough Cut Social (119 W 10th St.)

From axe throwing to a wide variety of social games such as giant Jenga and shuffleboard, Rough Cut Social has something for everyone to do!

Sioux Falls Bike Trail

Run, walk, rollerblade, or bike on the Sioux Falls Bike Trail that circles central Sioux Falls and runs through Downtown Sioux Falls and Falls Park.
