It’s a marque year for Lloyd Companies, and downtown moviegoers are invited to celebrate every month this spring and summer at the downtown State Theatre.
Lloyd will be covering half the cost of every movie ticket and giving all attendees a free small popcorn to enjoy with the movie on First Fridays each month from May through August.
“Our hope is that people will make a trip downtown, enjoy a half-price movie and free popcorn on us and recognize how grateful we are to be part of this wonderful community,” Lloyd CEO Chris Thorkelson said.
The fun starts May 6 with the feature La La Land – an Oscar-winning film starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as an actress and musician chasing their dreams.
Movies for June, July and August First Fridays are being solidified and will be announced soon.
“Places like the State Theatre make Sioux Falls a city unlike any other,” Thorkelson said. “We couldn’t think of a better way to invite the community to celebrate this milestone anniversary with us all summer.”
