Overview
A poignant story of generational trauma and healing, this 90-minute film offers a portrait of 91-year-old Sonia Warshawski, great-grandmother, businesswoman, and Holocaust survivor. It focuses on the power of love to triumph over bigotry and the healing power of truth-telling.
Following the film, author Patrick Hicks (a most engaging interview subject) will discuss his latest novel, “The Commandant of Lubizec,” which is based upon Auschwitz and other concentration camps. A former Visiting Fellow at Oxford (and eloquent speaker!), Hicks is writer-in-residence at Augustana University and the author of more than 10 books.
