Overview

Join us for one of two community conversations focusing on a new pilot program SDUIH is bringing to the community called the Wo’Okiye Project.

The pilot project has grant funding available to provide community outreach to unhoused members of our community. In partnership with local organizations, SDUIH is assembling an outreach response team in the upcoming months to act as a conduit and support law enforcement in responding to low-level calls. This direct primary outreach will allow for an opportunity to mitigate situations before they escalate. We are hopeful that by utilizing a network of care, we will be able to connect this population with resources to reduce the number of future calls and break the cycle.

We look forward to providing a safe space for the community to come in and learn more about the program and have an open discussion about the concerns surrounding our unhoused population and the potential solutions this grant could provide.
