Join downtown restaurants for the inaugural Downtown Pork Showdown, a mad-dash month of culinary competition presented by DTSF and Smithfield Foods. 

Try a succulent chop at one restaurant and bacon-studded brunch at the next.
Which pork dish will rise above the rest?
It’s really up to you!

Dust off your food critic skills and rate each competing dish on a variety of categories within the DTSF Digital Passport App to make sure the best gets crowned champ!

The voting categories are:

  • Presentation
  • Customer Service

With so many ways to enjoy pork, we reckon you’ll find a couple of new favorites.

Diners can also enter a weekly restaurant gift card drawing by posting a photo of featured pork dishes to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, tagging the restaurant name and using the hashtag #DTSFShowdown21.

Get down to the Showdown from September 3rd to the 30th at participating downtown Sioux Falls restaurants.

Blarney Stone Pub: Pork Roulade

Tenderized Pork Loin rolled with Prosciutto, Herb & Garlic Boursin Cheese, and Asparagus. Brushed with Whole Grain Dijon Mustard and Panko crusted. Served with a creamy Sauerbraten gravy on Champ potatoes with a Rustic Roll and Honey Butter.

Chef Lance’s on Phillips: Pulled Pork Wellington

Pulled pork, boursin cheese, and mashed potatoes baked in puff pastry with whiskey cream sauce.

Crawford’s: Crawford’s Bacon Chop

Duroc Belly on pork chop, Celeriac puree, pork jus braised Cipollini onion, Candy apple gastrique, pickled fennel, and local micro basil.

Dada Gastropub:  Pork Tonkotsu Ramen

Pork cashu, soft egg, mushrooms, sesame, and vegetables.

Holiday Inn City Centre:  8th Street Changa

Smoked pork shoulder, andouille sausage, jalapeño cured bacon, onions, peppers, and fresh bean salsa braised in a creole bloody mary mix then tortilla wrapped and fried to perfection. Served on a bed of jasmine rice and laced with house queso and creamy Pico.

La Luna Café: Bourbon Pulled Pork Tacos

Three flavorful tacos, lightly fried double corn tortillas, garnished with fresh cilantro and red onions, and served with a side of our spicy house salsa and pico de gallo.

Leonardo’s Café at the Washington Pavilion:  Open Face Pulled Pork Sandwich

Southern seasoned Pulled Pork, with crumbled bacon, Carolina BBQ sauce, topped with an apple slaw, garnished with cilantro, all on top of seasoned Texas toast and a side of cherry tomatoes. Served with sweet potato fries.

M.B. Haskett Delicatessen:  The Chef Dominique Sandwich

Sliced Boarshead Tavern ham, scrambled Berrybrook eggs, melted French Gruyere cheese on a fresh croissant. Served with Dijon mustard on the side.

Minervas:  Hunter Pork Chop

Montreal Seasoned Bone-In Pork Chop, sweet onions, sauteed fresh spinach, garlic and burgundy au jus.

Monks Ale House:  Porschetta 917 K

It is a deconstruction of a Porchetta, featured as a pizza. A porchetta is a savory, fatty, and moist boneless pork roast of Italian culinary tradition. On our house pizza crust, we layer the pizza with Garlic, Fennel, Oranges, Sage, Rosemary, Pork Belly, Cracklings, and Vinegar-Based BBQ Sauce. It is named after the car—the Porsche 917 K—the record holder for highest-selling Porsche at $14 million, featured in the Steve McQueen film, “Le Mans.”

House made pork burger topped with pineapple pico, sweet chili aioli, and cilantro. Served on a brioche bun with parmesan sweet potato fries.
