Overview

Sam Miltich is a self-taught jazz guitarist born and raised in the woods of northern Minnesota. Sam burst on the scene in his teens as a young lion of gypsy jazz. Sam’s fluid and instinctive sound has graced hundreds of stages, from small towns on the Iron Range to New York’s Lincoln Center. The Clearwater Hot Club is dedicated to preserving the repertoire and instrumentation of the Jazz Manouche style pioneered by Roma jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. French Musette, Brazilian choro, and Eastern European folk music are interpreted through this dynamic musical lens. Lead vocalist Charmin Michelle has travelled across Europe playing in jazz festivals, and the Star Tribune has described her style as “having taste and understatement. Swing and savoir-faire. Grace and grooves. Intimacy and panache.” Featuring: Sam Miltich (guitar), Matthew Miltich (bass), Mark Kreitzer (rhythm guitar), Doug Haining (clarinet and saxophone), and Charmin Michelle (vocals). sammiltichmusic.com
