Overview
Examining the mythological harmony of the natural world, Unnatural Order, is an imaginative amalgamation of texture, color, & light by artists Bryan Holland & Steve Bormes. Both artists will be present during their public reception at Rehfelds Modern on Friday April 5th from 5:30-8:00pm.
About the Artists:
Through his fusion of graphic design & realism, Minnesota artist Bryan Holland builds a thoughtful narrative that balances the realistic & the mystic. By seamlessly blurring the boundaries of the natural world, Bryan strives to challenge the viewer’s idea of illusion within a two-dimensional realm. Bryan’s work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, as well as national & international publications. Locally, Bryan serves on the board of Artist Alliance in St Peter, MN where he coordinates community art exhibitions & educational opportunities.
With his playful approach to storytelling, Steve Bormes found object sculptures captivate the imagination, while exploring the relationship between texture & light. Steve’s aptitude for transforming found objects into works of art merges relics of the past with futuristic aesthetics. Steve’s self described Prairie Funk can be found as centerpieces in local businesses, & private collections, as well on Sculpturewalk & in his hometown of Aberdeen, SD.
